How to Choose the Correct Tent For You

Your tent is a very important part of your camping trip. I have compiled a list of tips to help you make the right choice.

1.Size of tent. Always ensure that there is enough room inside for your sleeping bag and your personal anything. Do not buy a tent that is too big for your sleeping bag. Ensure that there is enough room to move around and get comfortable. If you do, you can be certain that you will be the center of attention of other campers and it will not be a good experience.

2.Weight. If you plan to bring your own vehicle or you plan to carry your tent from your car or truck to the campsite then you can make choices based on weight. When you plan to use your own vehicle you can choose a tent that is light weight friendly.

3.Ease of assembly. Before you buy a tent, take a look at how easy it is to set up. Now when you set it up make sure that you use strong footholds to hold the tent in place so that it does not collapse when you shake it.

4.Hydrostatic Head. Hydrostatic head is a rating of the water resistance of the tent. This calc form of measurement is used in permeability studies. The greater the rating of the tent for constant soaking by rainwater the more water will penetrate the tent.

5.Ventilation. The existence of mesh inner bodies and fly sheets on tents have paved the way for ventilation inside the tent. Two fly sheets that cover the doors are a best way to provide ventilation. When you open the fly sheet in the morning it should be fairly easy to close it again.

6.Hiking head room. All tents are labeled according to how many “adi” (heads) it will sleep. A tent with a rating of four or more is usually enough to fit in a decent-sized bed.

7. parked at the campsite. Once you have chosen the camping tent site you should always make sure that you are not parking your tent. Across-country trips are made more comfortable in large open spaces, a downside to motorhomes in which case you are more likely to be stuck in a space for hours on end.

8. Have a handy list of things to keep in mind. Keep a handy list of things to keep in mind Whether it is the cooking or the sleeping or the playing. Always be prepared. Keep a fuel fire going all the way to the site and keep things you should want to take with you. Like your toothbrush and toothpaste at all times.

9. Leave the absolute minimum of toiletries at home. You will be amazed at the amount of Botox, Racqueline, Jiffy Pop, and other toxins you can find on product reviews. If you are going to be camping in the snow, a Glacier Series 4 Biotoi is a great way to go.

10. Don’t forget your flashlight. Choosing a camping tent with a LED headlight is the best way to ensure you don’t always have to use the flashlight in the dark.

11. Fuel. How far you travel will dictate how much fuel you will need to use. If you are within a one-hour drive of your campsite you should bring a canister. If you are more than that and/or camping in the winter, pack some extra supplies.

12. Bigger is always better. When you are shopping for a tent, consider the larger options available. These typically offer the same benefits as the smaller models, but can be a bit heavier to carry.

13. Check for rough edges. Be sure that there are not any dips, ridges, or other rough areas that could cut, scrape, or otherwise cause damage to your camping equipment.

14. Keep your camping tent clean. Wipe down any dirt or mud that has been laid down. This will keep your tent lasting and look better.

15. After each use, run your air out and let it dry. You can apply a thin film of sterilized manuka honey and store it in a plastic bag – you will need to reapply it yearly.

16. If your camping tent shakes like a board on the ground while you are on it, spray it with lubricant. Make sure the tent is completely dry before storing.

Whether you camp in a tent or not, there are many different aspects that need to be considered. Remember that when camping, beauty comes from the inside out. If you are prepared, your camping tent will shelter you from the elements when you sleep and be an attractive addition to your outdoor wardrobe.
